How to Mute Someone on Instagram

If you are using Instagram as part of your business or personal marketing efforts, learning how to mute someone on Instagram can be extremely beneficial. Not only is it a good social etiquette, but it also provides safeties for those you are involved with on the platform. When you mute someone on Instagram, other users will not know that you are no longer in touch with them. However, you still can still go into their posts and read their newest posts.

You will need an iPhone. Simply connect your phone to your computer with a USB cable. Once your iPhone has synced up to your computer, open Instagram. You will see a page similar to the following:

As soon as you are done with the Instagram account you are using, go back to the main page and click on the “block someone” link that is underneath your photo or video. To do this, click on the link that says “use blocks someone”. Now, click on the radio button next to the user name you used to enter the password. The next step is to type in the user name of the person you want to block. This is again done by clicking on the “block someone” link that is underneath their photo or video. You will notice that you will now see two icons on the bottom right corner of your screen: one of them is the regular yellow one and another is a darker blue.
