BTS LOGO AND THE GOOD OLD DAYS OF THE BAND

BTS LOGO

WHAT IS THE NAME OF BTS LOGO?

The theme behind this BTS logo was the ‘firepower’ that the design details wanted to communicate. Short for Bangtan Sonyeondan, BTS is best translated as ‘BTS’. For this reason, the overall concept of bulletproof vests seemed to fit visually with their names.

WHAT DOES THE BTS LOGO MEAN?

The logo’s mission was to “protect youth from prejudice” and to encourage young people to pursue their dreams rather than become accustomed to a reality they find unpleasant. In the language of images, the BTS logo stands for ARMY, where you meet BTS at your doorstep.

WHAT DOES BTS STAND FOR?

Most people were familiar with the acronym BTS meaning “Be There Soon” or “Better than Sex.” The musical band BTS certainly makes us crave, but the abbreviation has a very different meaning from the previously popular hashtag #BTS, which was used to express a desire for food.

BTS means bulletproof hand podium. In Korea, BTS hand podium actually means BTS.

WHO DESIGNED THE BTS LOGO?

According to a Big Hit Entertainment press release, Visual Identity was being developed by the country’s top design consulting firm (although the band’s name was not disclosed). The course, which took almost a year, included collaborations, research, and focus group interviews with Big Hit staff and band members. The statement also claims that fans’ wishes were taken into account.

INTRODUCTION:

The Korean boy band BTS has an interesting approach to branding. In 2017, we added one more interpretation of the name and a new logo with a deeper symbolic meaning.

Big Hit Entertainment started recruiting future band members in 2010, but they didn’t actually debut until 2013. But six months before their debut, they released the song covers on YouTube and SoundCloud.

Their first album, 2 Cool 4 Skool, sold over 105,000 copies, but none of the songs achieved blockbuster status. It was a real commercial success for the band in 2015 when their single “For You” reached number one on Oricon’s Daily Chart. Many critics point out that some of BTS’ success can be explained in part by the fact that they co-write and produce many singles.

2013 – 2016

The original design was quite complex. You can see the bulletproof vest full of useful details and the words “BTS” on the chest. It also had lightning bolts on both sides.

In 2016

The BTS logo, which looked completely different from its predecessor, has four circles, each with a different pattern. The word “wings” in black can be seen below.

2017 – Now

The four circles with the pattern have been replaced with four empty ellipses with blue trim. One side of each ellipse overlapped the other.

The BTS logo has two black trapezoids on its shortest side. They are symmetrical and look like mirror reflections of each other.

In the summer of 2017, the band unveiled a new logotype and a new interpretation of the old name. Now the BTS logo should mean “Beyond the Scene.” Official descriptions say the new name will be the loyal A.R.M.Y. member. The logo’s mission was to “protect youth from prejudice” and to encourage young people to pursue their dreams rather than become accustomed to a reality they find unpleasant.

In the language of images, the BTS logo stands for ARMY, where you meet BTS at your doorstep. Or, as BTS official Twitter wrote, “We and the military become one”. The logo actually consists of two parts: “The ARMY” (two trapezoids representing a half-open door on the outside) and “BTS” (two trapezoids representing a half-open door on the inside). The ARMY half is placed above the BTS half to form a single logo that looks like part of a door. The inverted word “ARMY” is placed at the top of the logo and the letters “BTS” are placed below it. The BTS logo is silver on a black background.

OLD LOGO

The original logo of BTS has the words “BTS” engraved on the bulletproof vest. A few details have also been added to enhance the “firepower” theme. The BTS logo was displayed in white or silver on a black background. The design matched the band’s name perfectly. BTS is an abbreviation for ‘Bulletproof Hand Podium’ in Korea which can be translated as Bulletproof Boy Scouts.
